Recruitment

Do you have what it takes?

Thank you for considering becoming a member of our 100% Volunteer Fire Department (Brockport Volunteer Firefighters Association, Inc.). Our reward as volunteers is the satisfaction that we help our community members in their time of need.

At a time when your community needs you most, what better way to serve than with the volunteer fire service? As new problems challenge us, there will always be a need for volunteer first responders who step up and help. You can be one of them by joining now.

The Brockport Volunteer Firefighters Association, Inc. provides the manpower to the Brockport Fire District which serves the Village of Brockport, Town of Sweden, and all but a small portion of the Town of Clarkson.

All members must be 18 years old and a resident of the Brockport Fire District. We train and supply you with all of the necessary equipment. We expect members to serve as either interior firefighters and/or fire police.

We have implemented a Brockport College Student Mutual Aid Program for those students who are already active members in their home department and would still like to serve while attending college in Brockport.

Youth Program

We also have an Explorer Program for boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 17 years old. Explorers will learn the basic skills of firefighting which will allow them to move into regular membership at 18 years old.

Support Roles

There is also a Support membership available to those individuals who wish to offer non-firefighting support. You will generally find members at our Headquarters located at 38 Market Street in the village on Tuesday evenings for drill/meeting night. Please feel free to stop by and talk with us.
